Candice Johnson aka ‘The Wallflower Observer’ Blooms into New Role as Talent Coordinator and Event Curator

This past Saturday night at Philadelphia’s Milo-The Meeting House on Germantown Ave., Candice Johnson, aka The Wallflower Observer, celebrated the launch of her career in talent coordination and event curating. Johnson’s mission statement cries out to the underdog creatives of Philadelphia, offering them a unique chance to be part of her growing Wallflower community. Saturday’s Wallflower Observer Presents event featured Philadelphia pop-funk extravaganza, onyx&honey., talented vibraphonist, Jello Vibes, and electronic jam band, Muskrat Flats featuring special guest singer, Fawziyya Heart.

‘Milo,’ as the locals refer to the full-bar venue, was alive with the sound of humans coming together after far too long apart. Intergalactic lighting filled the tall ceilings of Milo, and the dark corners were touched with light by the Rosie’s Grateful Garden’s and Spacetrash and Witchcraft’s vendor tables. The lovely Nika Norris remained fixated upon her brightly colored and bedazzled painting throughout the live musical performances.

As the honorary guest and proprietor of the party, Johnson mingled with friends and loved ones throughout the night; pausing only to hand out hugs and encouragement to the various artists. She often looked around at the room with a soft smile, admiring all of the hard work she and so many others have put into making her dream of a creative community come into reality. Johnson is a motivated self-starter with experience working for Live Nation Entertainment, and it is absolutely clear how much of her experience in live music along with her passion for helping independent artists went into starting her new business.

While reflecting upon Saturday’s event, Johnson said: “The event was everything I wanted it to be. It was community in it’s true form. Everyone who participated came with the same idea in mind, that this was going to be a great event because we are all working together to make it great. This is what The Wallflower Observer and my community garden is all about, gathering people together to create a space and an experience filled with positive energy that will stay with you for time to come and Muskrat Flats was the icing on the cake to what was already shaping up to be a beautiful night. I am so grateful to the band and Milo for allowing me to launch myself and my services with them. I am ecstatic about this next phase in my growth and I look forward to planning the next Wallflower experience as soon as possible!”
