Hi, I’m Andrea.

Music is what moves me through life and I’ve devoted mine to seeking out the best this world has to offer.

My Song

I often think back to my senior year at Belvidere High School with a fond curiosity about the person I was then. Growing up, I had known only the small world of Warren County New Jersey; the backroads, the homecoming football games that felt more like miniature carnivals, everyone knowing everyone else’s business. The only taste of the big world had come through performing. Our school, lacking in finances as it may have been, rewarded its music department with band trips to regional competitions every year. We entered our Spring musical productions into the Freddy Awards; the Lehigh Valley, PA-Warren County, NJ version of the Tony Awards. At the height of my high school performing career I played a lead role in the musical Urinetown and was a Senior member of the Madrigals Choir.

I’d only managed to make it to one AP class my senior year as well, which was AP English. Go figure, right? English has also been a no-brainer for me but half the time, I didn’t even show up to that AP English class because I just wanted to be where the music was. The English classroom was too quiet; the atmosphere was vapid and I think we were reading the Canterbury Tales. Yuck. Anyway, I started skipping lunch period and gym class just to hang out in the music room and listen to some of the guys play guitar or work on one of my solos. I also begged our whacky-but-so-darn-lovable choral instructor, Bob Riday to accompany me on piano just about everyday. I guess you could say I was obsessed.

After a rather dry experience as a theater major, I decided to leave education behind for a little while to save money. I hadn’t been particularly interested in college to begin with and after leaving theater school I wasn’t even sure where to begin. I started working a full time job and going to as many live performances as I could afford and steeping for weeks in whatever new music I could find. Eventually I found that I am truly one of those people who ‘likes everything’ when it comes to music, but I’ll always be true to the classics like The Grateful Dead and The Beatles.

Today, I am a summa cum laude graduate from Arizona State University where I brought my love for music and the arts in a new direction and incorporated into my passion for writing and communication, so that I can help performers like me achieve their goals and bring their masterpieces to the masses. If music is your best friend too, I’d love to meet you.
